Russia may deny Putin is dictator but when country transition to autocracy/dictatorship, the first thing to go is anything you say bad about leader and country and many countries aside from Russia take dim view of criticism.

Putin denies he is a dictator. A lot of Russians know and acknowledge he is. But the fate of speaking out is just not worth losing their livelihoods. Putin made sure the police haven't gone to the front line in Moscow and St Petersburg so they crack down hard and fast on any hint of people speaking up.

Russians know he is a dictator in the Western sense but consider themselves to be a "democracy of strength" where power is taken rather than given.

If someone were to overthrow Putin than they would worship him.

Unironically, it is when Republicans have proven time and again that this is literally what they want and we all just laugh them off every time. It needs to be said, repeatedly and bluntly: Republicans are, at best, Putin's puppets. At worst, they're all as every bit as dangerous and conniving as the most brutal authoritarians in world history. We CANNOT risk them obtaining power. Trump and his supporters are traitors to everything America ostensibly stands for. They sold us out to our greatest enemies.

All you have to do is listen to the literal words they say. No reading between the lines or leaps of logic required. No secondary sources, no angry podcasters. Listen to the words from the horses' mouths; they're not quiet.
