It's onomatopoeia - a cartoonish written-out spelling of the noise you make generating a loogie/saliva and spitting it out. Like hwak PTUH

I might be OOTL, but I just read it as like a phonetic way of writing what spitting sounds like? Could be wrong obviously, but that's my guess
