We'll miss him when he retire. He is surely one of the best players.

Of what? He barely cracks a Top 20 list alltime.

I'm not a fan of him, but that's just a ridiculous statement. You have to massively glorify the past to come to such a conclusion, or have an extremely warped view of current player skills.

Some players in the past had more individual impact on games because the overall level was lower. Christiano Ronaldo has managed to get close to that dominance in an era in which the base level is way higher.

The guy is probably a salty Messi fanboy. Cristiano is undisputably top 5 and most likely top 3 ever. Same with Messi, their numbers are head and shoulders above their peers. Sad that fans of one side too often put down the other whenever the chance arises. It's like Jordan and LeBron fans.

Yeah, show me an all time lineup without Ronaldo and Messi on the team. Same with LeBron and Jordan. Can't even argue anyone close to being a better SG than Jordan, or a better SF than LeBron.

the thing with lebron and jordan and even kobe, is that in jordan's era, the rules are different now making it easier to run in (hand check rule i think it's called).

but regarding messia and ronaldo, if they aren't in anyones top 5, they are hating. messi is naturally talented, ronaldo made his whole life to be the best with training and nutrition.

Agree. Aside from Messi I don't see anybody better than Cristiano Ronaldo. Pele changed the game, so it can be said that it is him #1, but back in the day defenders were not as good, so impossible to compare eras. I say Messi #1, but that's about it. Maradona, Cruyff, Zidane were not better than him. R9 is a big what if because of injuries. Ronaldinho just too short a peak like many others.

top 20 of current players is one of the best. Top 20 of all time? Surely that's gotta count, even in your disparaging world?

For me Yashin shouldn't be in the top 20 while C. Ronaldo is too low, but in general it's not bad
