Someone tell me why we run out of arrows in the training area... How the fuck is that a thing?

I think while we're at base, we should just have infinite arrows tbh. I think the reason they aren't free there is because it would probably cause issues with missions and people stacking free arrows.

Infinite enchantment procs show on the left with everything else so you'd know when it happens.

3

u/RiotIsBored May 31 '20

Every time I run Pumpkin Pastures, I end with between 300 and 800 arrows. Not broken at all, lmao.

3

u/[deleted] May 29 '20

You can get souls in the training arena if you have a sword with Soul Siphon.

1

u/Andrew4568_ May 29 '20

It needs for test dummys too so you can check out out the splash damage and ability's that connect to other mobs

1

u/SheFoundTheSock Jun 03 '20

And take damage

7

u/xanthaze May 28 '20

Less then ideal but if you get that one enchant that gives you consumables when you use a potion, it can drop arrow bundles.

54

u/Fan_With_A_Pan May 28 '20

Just being able to have more arrows for the next level would be nice. And how do we run out in the camp?!

64

u/CookieNS15 May 28 '20

That would be amazing but possibly op

35

u/[deleted] May 28 '20

Yeah, especially with auto-crossbow build. They should have an extra help shop which sells 1 extra totem+2 bundles of arrows per level. If you quit halfway even if you didn't use it, it will count as used.

3

u/Bacon-muffin May 28 '20

Do bows get super strong or something? I only played a couple hours but they didn't seem special at all. Was confused why they were even a limited thing.

3

u/CookieNS15 May 28 '20

Bows are decent. Some of them do big damage, but not nearly as fast as a crossbow.

2

u/Bacon-muffin May 28 '20

So what makes it possibly OP then?

4

u/CookieNS15 May 28 '20

For bows, I’ve had a unique one that can do up to 3248 damage a shot, but enchants can make it even better. Stuff like piercing can make a bow more effective

1

u/Bacon-muffin May 28 '20

and thats stronger than what melee weapons can put out?

1

u/CookieNS15 May 28 '20

Glaives can be great damage as you can hit from further away and not get hit as often. Swords or sickles can be great too if you’re fine with getting hit more.

1

u/vapemuscle May 30 '20

I'm using fangs of frost right now with max rampage and max radiant. I can only die if I want to. It's silly.

1

u/Bshizzled May 28 '20

Bows can be suuuper OP. Fully leveled multi shot plus piercing and ricochet on a spread crossbow is insane

1

u/vapemuscle May 30 '20

I had a harp with max multi and max accel. I took down final boss in roughly 5 seconds. It was a blur.

82

u/Cydaine May 28 '20

You should be able to trade with co-op partners. Cannot change my mind.

Also

You should be able to respec items without salvaging them. Cannot change my mind.

Edit: Respec is important feature needed....badly.

29

u/LethalLizard May 28 '20

Im gonna try to change ur mind on the top one

If u can trade items then what’s to stop me giving my unique items to my friend who just started 5 mins ago and making him ridiculously strong?

Yes at the minute that isn’t that big of a deal cause we all just started but in a while when there’s is a bigger gap between long time players and new players we will see a problem if they add trading.

8

u/Sibraxlis May 28 '20

Why not do it diablo style where you have to be in game when it drops and have 1 hour to trade it.

3

u/h0b0_shanker May 28 '20

There’s not level cap for the weapons and armor. So you’re always only able to get stuff that matches your level. If they allow trading they’ll have to implement a confusing level cap. I think your point is valid.

10

u/Cydaine May 28 '20

While that can and would happen, there isn't a ladder system in place, so not a real worry. But if implemented trading, add a soft level restriction, for items you've worn have a soul bind on them?

6

u/Gwydi May 28 '20

There might be a ladder system later on (so i hope at least) still if there are some regulations i agree, there should be a way to trade

3

u/ArmyOfDog May 28 '20

They could have it so that if you gave someone gear higher than their level, they can’t equip it until they reach that level, or that they can’t accept the trade until they reach it.

2

u/trelian5 May 28 '20

I mean, plenty of other games allow you to give overpowered items to weak players. It's just a matter of your own self-restraint.

1

u/LethalLizard May 28 '20

Yes but from a business standpoint it makes little sense. If u start out with amazing gear ur going to breeze through the game relatively quickly and u will lose enjoyment and therefore stop playing. From a business standpoint mojang wants to keep people playing as long as possible as that allows them time to make more content which will keep them playing which raises publicity for the game which increases sales.

More sales means more profit for mojang, more profit means they will keep focusing on the game, if they keep focusing we get more content for longer. There’s more to it than just making the game easier.

0

u/trelian5 May 28 '20

If u start out with amazing gear ur going to breeze through the game relatively quickly and u will lose enjoyment and therefore stop playing

So just don't fucking do that then

1

u/LethalLizard May 28 '20

I’m saying that it’s why mojang won’t add it because I won’t do it but other players will.

1

u/trelian5 May 28 '20

I personally think that's a very bad reason not to add things

1

u/LethalLizard May 28 '20

For us yes it’s a bad reason. For mojang it’s a good reason as it’s a business and they want profit.

0

u/trelian5 May 29 '20

I seriously doubt it'll have as much effect as you think it will

10

u/[deleted] May 28 '20

So, kind of a work around, you can clone your character if you wanted to try a Respec out to see if it's worth commiting to or not.

3

u/h0b0_shanker May 28 '20

Okay I gotta ask (only played 3 hours of the game) what’s “Respec”?

5

u/[deleted] May 28 '20

Respec is just a common term for changing around talents, gear, skills etc.. in MCD it would most likely mean salvage a weapon for enchant points so you can add them to new gear

3

u/h0b0_shanker May 28 '20

So you have a piece of armor that has health regeneration for example. You want to be able to break it down and pass that enchantment to a new piece?

3

u/[deleted] May 28 '20

Exactly. But let's say you got a new weapon and are curious if it is better than your current weapon when fully enchanted, you can clone your character and salvage your current weapon and give it a shot. Since it's cloned it will still exist on the other character if you end up not liking it.

0

u/Cydaine May 28 '20

That's okay for now, but should still have it added

3

u/ThisIsntABadName May 28 '20

If the trading happens we need a feature like you both need to pay emeralds depending on level of item/player to the other player trading so level 4s dont have level 50 items.

2

u/holeacher May 28 '20

Looks like you should be making your own game then! Cannot change my mind.

1

u/hensterz May 28 '20

I don’t think you should be able to trade, because you can easily carry someone and give them high tear loot

1

u/Cydaine May 28 '20

Can easily be avoided with restrictions [ trade or level].

1

u/hensterz May 28 '20

Fair enough

1

u/kentheprogrammer May 28 '20

What's the issue with something like that if no competitive ladder or pvp?

1

u/hensterz May 28 '20

makes the game unfun? Hard to keep track of? There could be something like that on the future but sure

1

u/kentheprogrammer May 28 '20

Players should be able to "make the game unfun" for themselves if they want. What's fun for one person is not necessarily fun for others.

I'm more interested in being able to trade - even if there are level restrictions, soulbound, etc... - and less concerned about high-level equipment on lower level characters. I played co-op for a couple of hours and it seemed like I got all the good drops. It'd have been nice to be able to hand off some of my gear to my teammate. I think at one point, I had a power of ten and he had a power of four.

2

u/hensterz May 28 '20

fair enough. I’d say if you trade, it has to be unenchanted, with a emerald system as mentioned before.

1

u/[deleted] May 28 '20

Another badly needed feature is a different revive button. I play with friends and I end up getting battered while I have my hand out like “it’s safe, there’s only fifty enchanted pillagers attacking me!”

Very annoying.

1

u/Cexcells May 28 '20

Agree agree and agree

1

u/dinoaurus Jul 19 '20

I played with a frirnd once (locally) and it was the first time i played and my friend just kept destoing everything before i could do anything and he was only like 5 levels ahead

0

u/NeonTheKnight May 28 '20

The issue is that the game is pretty casual and currently there no major time sink as far as doing maps so having this no respec option gives us a time sink so we have to farm up xp for additional enchants. It's the only time sink in the game I guess besides farming for specific gear so is kind of needed

The only thing I'd say would be a maybe is purchasing a respec with a high number of emralds.. maybe 5k? 10k? Idk

1

u/[deleted] May 28 '20

[deleted]

2

u/NeonTheKnight May 28 '20

What's the level cap? Everyone I've heard has said there is no level cap so where are you getting this info?

22

u/MapleTreeWithAGun May 28 '20

Arrows get reset when you leave a level so the low start count is prolly on purpose

8

u/BeefiousMaximus May 28 '20

This explains why I went down to a bit over 50 after going to Creepy Caverns specifically to farm them. Had over 500 when I left. Kinda BS if you ask me. Really limits certain loadouts for no real good reason.

6

u/ivowns May 28 '20

Look for a bow/crossbow with Infinity.

6

u/WeTheSalty May 28 '20

infinity is awesome. Especially when you're using archery artifacts like burning arrows or fireworks since it duplicates the special arrows too.

1

u/ivowns May 28 '20

Exactly. Infinity Bow/Xbow combined with Fireworks, Burning Arrows and Torment Quiver if you wanna play full archer.

19

u/stryxe1017 May 28 '20

Wish that as you proceeded throughout the game villagers returned to the hub, and the place becomes more lively over time. + Even some type of crafting mechanism as it is well... minecraft.

15

u/BeefiousMaximus May 28 '20

A vendor with one of those grinders that removes enchantment points from armor without destroying it would be nice. It even fits the lore.

4

u/stryxe1017 May 28 '20

oh my god i completely forgot about that, that would be so good

7

u/big-fella-69 May 28 '20

Yeah, I saw the trading dude move in and I was like oh cool, but then it just stopped there

1

u/Ikeybones May 28 '20

I thought the same thing

10

u/electricfoxx May 28 '20

You can farm them out with the Surprise Gift enchantment. Just stay at Camp and Heal. You will eventually get more arrows.

9

u/LethalLizard May 28 '20

My friend had the recycler enchant on his gear and, Jesus Christ, it is good, he ended up having 1000 arrows at one point, which worked well as he had accelerate on a rapid bow

10

u/presi300 May 28 '20

would be a waste of emeralds tbh

10

u/Bilgewat3r May 28 '20

Emeralds need more uses, health needs to show exact numbers, numbers for timers would be nice, why can’t we pause offline sessions, storage for gear we want to keep but can’t carry around, I had a couple other things but forgot rip

6

u/Algorhythm74 May 28 '20

There's an armor stand in the house at the camp, it would be cool if we could use it to store a loadout or something at least.

8

u/darkequation May 28 '20

Or craft, because it's, you know, Minecraft.

3

u/DoggoBoi46 May 28 '20

I know right? There's literally a crafting table inside the house and it's purely cosmetic

5

u/empw May 28 '20

I would definitely love to see them use this and expand on what we can do at the Camp. I think that would give the game much longer legs.

3

u/Algorhythm74 May 28 '20

There is an odd level of both mining and crafting missing from a game with Minecraft in the title.

Then again, it's also called Dungeons when half the levels are outside - so there's that!

2

u/darkequation May 28 '20

So it's no mine no craft half dungeons?

Refund

2

u/ExodiaTheWelcomed May 28 '20

Personally I was hoping for at least a runescape esque skill system to replace things such as mining and/or fishing(would add more villagers to expand the hib world). As for the crafting aspect the best suggestion I've heard is too allow users to make their own maps.

1

u/daaays May 28 '20

It hit home for me when a creeper blew up and didn't deform the terrain.

3

u/bbylizard88 May 28 '20

I haven't had a problem with arrows, overall it's pretty balanced and it can be hard to lose all your arrows... Except with crossbows, I'm currently using an imploding crossbow, and I love it but I save my arrows mostly for boss fights or redstone golems even with infinity III

2

u/407juan May 28 '20

When you bow literally shoots like a machine gun its pretty easy to lose all of them

1

u/[deleted] May 28 '20

auto crossbow intensifies

9

u/[deleted] May 28 '20

I had 900 arrows in a level then I lost all of them after I finished the level. Tf.

8

u/JakeTazer May 28 '20

That's how it's supposed to work lol.

0

u/big-fella-69 May 28 '20

RT simulator

2

u/Gejzer May 28 '20

Buying/Saving arrows would be insanely overpowered, you could just play low lvl missions and then go do the harder ones having infinite arrows, bows are very strong and are balanced by the limited arrow supply, if you remove that there is nothing stopping people from just never using melee weapon and killing most enemies even off-screen by just running away and spamming.

1

u/DeltaGG May 29 '20

There's no PvP or competitive play in place, so there's no real need to hinder the players ability to play the game however they deem fit. The devs are limiting too much the meta imo.

3

u/marlies_81 May 28 '20

YES - omg, arrows are so low!!! I wish we could buy them, but maybe a little restricted, like max 200 after each mission or etc!!

4

u/ErrorCodeMoose May 28 '20

Tell me about it, I have the auto crossbow and that runns out all the time

2

u/Kayodeydawg May 28 '20

Arrows should not disappear after a dungeon. I finish with 100+ return with 20-50. Also PETS should be buffed insanely

3

u/ThisIsntABadName May 28 '20

pets suck

3

u/theplatypus04 May 28 '20

I found one good use so far. The bat you get from the spelunker Armour seems to be invincible. I cheesed the creepy cauldron but tagging it with a hunting bow and let the bat do the work. All I had to do was run around and not die, and watched the bat fly in flames, take some projectiles aimed at me etc. all while dealing a consistent 27 dps (not too great, but it doesn’t go away!).

I’ve yet to see that tiny little health bar take any damage whatsoever. Stood in witch poison and took creeper explosions but the bat stayed.

4

u/ThisIsntABadName May 28 '20

I might try the bat. seems good.

1

u/bbylizard88 May 28 '20

I used a bow with radiance and kept healing my dog while he was fighting a redstone golem and that worked pretty well, though the damage and health of pets still kinda suck

1

u/AdmiralPoopinButts May 28 '20

You take that back my llama is a beautiful being.

0

u/Gejzer May 28 '20

Buying/Saving arrows would be insanely overpowered, you could just play low lvl missions and then go do the harder ones having infinite arrows, bows are very strong and are balanced by the limited arrow supply, if you remove that there is nothing stopping people from just never using melee weapon and killing most enemies even off-screen by just running away and spamming.

1

u/ben123111 May 28 '20

Do arrows become really hard to come by later in the game? Ive only played like the first 3 levels but it always seems like I have way too many.

2

u/beastkiller6 May 28 '20

Infinity is a must on any arrow build. Every shit has a chance to not use an arrow. 48 percent at max.

2

u/LoganMM5 May 28 '20

Unless ur building is based on an auto crossbow, infinity is very much not needed. With an arrow build u want firework, flame quiver, and soul quiver. All of which give u arrows meaning u have infinite arrows anyway.

2

u/Brontobeuf May 28 '20

Yeah... but Infinity + 3x Flame Quiver + CD reduction on torso = true spamming arrows pleasure. ^

1

u/LoganMM5 May 28 '20

Flame quiver isn't that good u don't want 3 one of each is better and u want either 50% more artifact damage or 30% ranged damage

1

u/big-fella-69 May 28 '20

Depends on ur play style. I’m almost done playing through the story on adventure and typically finish with 100-200 arrows. It seems like some ppl just don’t wanna use their melee weapon lol

1

u/407juan May 28 '20

Thatd be dope, I have close to 100k emeralds, having so many arrows with my bow would make this game much more fun

1

u/mrfishman44 May 28 '20

that one time i had 1256 emeralds and around 50 arrows

1

u/Senior_Wayne May 28 '20

You also should be able to buy a "pause" button.

1

u/emeria May 28 '20

Maybe keeping 25-50% of arrows for next mission would be enough. Or maybe you can spend to keep that amount of arrows from you last mission for the next.

1

u/skippy_35 May 28 '20

I wish, I have a rapid crossbow with accelerate and increased fire rate enchants and I can burn through arrows so fast. Buying them would be great.

1

u/Deadpool2715 May 28 '20

I think a good balance would be some infinite arrow system in spawn but that the game will cap out how many arrows you can start a mission with. Let’s say somewhere between 30-100

1

u/TheTwinkieOne May 28 '20

I can't really get a better weapon by buying it, so I have a ton of emeralds. Whay I don't have are arrows. Why didn't they think this part through...

1

u/hensterz May 28 '20

please yes. We need more vendors, consistent gameplay updates and such

1

u/Uchuujin51 May 28 '20

I just need to find a way to keep my 5 year old from taking all of the arrow drops, and shooting them all into walls...

1

u/jasonmohnson May 28 '20

My problem yesterday lmao

1

u/Ikeybones May 28 '20

I wish they got rid of salvages and replaced it with a shop

1

u/Less_Insanity_Please May 28 '20

Yup. Lemme buy arrows.

1

u/stingertc May 28 '20

Agree 1000 percent

1

u/iaintgoodwithnamesXD May 28 '20

This or they should at least be more common from mobs like skeletons, that way range would be a viable class

1

u/stingertc May 28 '20

Or make every archer drop arrows cause I have killed like 40 archers and 1 drops arrows

1

u/rodinj May 28 '20

You should be able to trade items and arrows!

1

u/Bevsworld04 May 28 '20

I agree, now give me my reddit gold

1

u/Bevsworld04 May 28 '20

They should add a grindstone that is in your camp so you can disenchant weapons and get the points back

1

u/Oweewoowoo May 28 '20

I know that arrows reset in each dungeon but I would like the idea of being able to start with 200 If you purchased the., I've left an area with 800 only to have them removed after returning to camp

1

u/F1re_hazard May 28 '20

i agree it makes no sense you cant buy arrows

1

u/Cexcells May 28 '20

Yes I totally agree!

We should be able to stock up at camp.

I hardly get any arrows, and when I do I run out very quickly.

This punishes people who want to run a ranged heavy build, and rewards melee only. Which in-turn limits build creativity.

1

u/snake243X1 May 28 '20

No bad no microtransactiond

1

u/GryphonKingBros May 28 '20 edited May 29 '20

Nobody is planning on changing your mind, this literally just should be a thing. I'd be broke before I ever got to buy any artifacts or additional gear if I could buy arrows.

1

u/Cassandra_Frazier May 28 '20

No need. Just get infinite and use quivers.

1

u/JoshBuwu May 29 '20

I'm having to use daggers with looting three just to get arrows and I'm only getting tnt

1

u/JoshBuwu May 29 '20

How come when I load into the final level with two hundred or more I end up with like 10 half way

1

u/Jamzkee84 May 29 '20

At least give us an arrow chest before major bosses. Or maybe make us sacrifice an artifact slot for extra arrows. Being able to drop weapons or trade with friends would be nice. Why do we have to salvage weapons do get enchantments back? I’m confident the devs will address a lot of these issues, the game is only 3 days old.

1

u/[deleted] May 29 '20

How many times do I have to tank trough hordes of enemies when I run out of arrows

1

u/TheSpitDragon Jun 01 '20

The game is just fine as is.

If you even attempt to change my mind, I'll just call you a whiny baby.

1

u/Oheligud Jun 09 '20

I know right, I have thousands of emeralds, but only 53 arrows in battle.

1

u/Ghostwind685 May 28 '20

Yeah I'd rather spend my emeralds on a fletcher for more arrows than just recycling all of my common and uncommon items

0

u/Algorhythm74 May 28 '20

This would be cool for them to do!

I mean why stock them up though? Literally no other use for them even if the trader usually gives shit, with that many you can probably get at LEAST 3 uniques

0

u/ThisIsntABadName May 28 '20

Idk might have a use in the future and I like to see the number go high up also I am level 31 so trying to get better weapon levels so better safe than sorry

1

u/Gejzer May 28 '20

u/[deleted] May 28 '20

1

u/Gejzer May 28 '20

It would need to he flexible depending on the bow you use, if you haven't noticed, your amount of arrows depends on the ammo stat of your bow, for example if you have a bow with moderate amount of ammo and have 200 arrows, when you equip a bow with very little ammo it would change to for example 40 arrows, and then back to 200 when you switch back.

I don't think it's a good idea anyway, having to finish the mission with what you find during it instead of buying bonus stuff beforehand is better imo.

1

u/Algorhythm74 May 28 '20

What if you are only buying them for the level you are about to go on and then there is a maximum limit on what you can buy. That would make it balanced but also let you play as an archer class rather than being forced to melee.

0

u/Elithrus May 28 '20

Yeah that'd be cool. BTW, should I upvote it or keep it on 777?

2

u/Elithrus May 28 '20

Oh wait two people removed their upvote nvm

0

u/TheSpitDragon Jun 01 '20

If your build relies on arrows, change your build or play style.. GG. This ain't no FPS.

-1

u/kappalee_ May 28 '20

Why would i change it

1

u/YourLoveKokona Oct 02 '22

Just get a shulker armor with Recycling and stand there, taking hits from skeletons and farmimg arrows.

1

u/Substantial_Stand_70 Feb 19 '23

I said that when I was playing with my friends

1

u/[deleted] Nov 09 '23

Instant microtransactions yay
