As far as I can actually confirm, it looks like job postings led people to believe a sequel is probably in active development.
I haven’t been able to find a single direct announcement of anything.

No. Maybe I was unclear — there are a bunch of people here who think job postings mean there’s a sequel, without evidence. But I can’t find anything concrete, anywhere.

Ngl I feel like this is a really weird take, just don’t buy the sequel, nobody’s forcing you but I’d rather see a sequel since they completely discounted support, I’m excited for new mechanics and new items and new areas that don’t need to be grafted onto an older game

You know you don't have to buy the sequel and even if you do you still have the first game.
This isn't like destiny 2 where everybody who bought it on day one had to watch all the content they thought they were paying for get vaulted and not have access to it anymore.

You lost me at 1,000 hours of entertainment for $40. However, I do agree that you should get something for the sequel if you played the first game, but keeping all progress defeats the purpose of a sequel. The reason I want a sequel to MCD is because my build is busted to the point the game is too easy.

I just wish they made this a free to play with continuous updates. This game would’ve benefited from having the base game be f2p so much. A fantastic game for newcomers to dungeon crawlers.

Thats usually how sequels to games work. They dont transfer over all data from the first game
