Looking for Suggestions Looking for more co-op games for couples

My wife and I have played several co-op games over the years. Some have felt more like we've been playing the same game side by side and not really interacting (Anno 1800, Minecraft, Stardew Valley), and some have been too difficult, either in terms of complexity or dexterity (Diablo, Borderlands, Starcraft 2, Helldivers 2). Deep Rock Galactic is just on the edge of too complex/too skill based. She's not good at first person shooters and doesn't really enjoy them.

We recently played It Takes Two, and holy crap...that game was just so far beyond our expectations. It's exactly what co-op should feel like. What I'm doing has a direct effect on what she is doing, and we're playing together, in close proximity to each other. We're looking for more of that, but even with the co-optimus site, I'm having a hard time filtering out what games would be good for that feeling. Any suggestions?

Looking for Suggestions Co-Op Game Suggestions Please!!

Me and a long-time friend of mine have recently decided to start seeing eachother but it's a long distance relationship. We're trying to scrap together some date ideas we could try (we're both new to this so we're a little lost) but since we're both gamers, I figured co-op games would be fun. We've already played It Takes Two and We Were Here, we had lots of fun with those. He's not into cozy games like Stardew or Minecraft. He's more of an Elden Ring, Final Fantasy, Destiny player. I don't mind and am open to any type. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thank you!!

Extra note: He mainly plays on Playstation but has access to a PC. I mainly play PC but have access to a Playstation. It'll probably be easier to play on Playstation though so mainly Playstation games would be awesome!

Suggesting a game My non-gamer wife and myself (not much of a gamer) are looking for PS5 and desktop games to play together.

My wife 29F and myself 36M are looking for a game to play together. We have PS5 and Mac computers (M1 Macbook air and M1 iMac, I can get other specs if needed).

The long and short is I've always wanted to be a gamer and really get into it, but have rarely found things that tickled me enough to really get stuck into it. Some exceptions are an old MMORTS called Shattered Galaxy (historically my most obsessed game), Dynasty Warriors, Diablo and the whole Borderlands franchise (though I usually do not like FPS). I'm ok with a little complexity/challenge/strategy and very much enjoy it when its done well, but I wouldn't consider myself anything close to a highly skilled gamer. (Games like Dark Souls or Elden Ring would have me more likely quitting gaming altogether than play them through)

My wife has played pretty minimally, but we had a blast playing Diablo 3 and a fairly fun time with Lego harry potter (Though for me there's not enough progression or character building to really keep my interest). She doesn't tend to do very well with any "fast reaction" type games like Call of Duty etc.

I would love to get back in to online desktop gaming if you have any suggestions that might work for both of us. We're also very interested to PS5 games that are couch coop.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions or if you have any questions on clarification. Thank you all in advance!

Looking for Suggestions I'm looking for a multiplayer PC game to play with a "casual" gamer friend

I'm looking for a co-op video game to play with my friend. He's not really into gaming and is quite casual about it, but he's bored and invited me to play something together. I need to find a game that won't overwhelm him and kill his budding interest in gaming. On the other hand, I'm an experienced gamer, so I'm comfortable with more challenging games. Can you suggest some online multiplayer games that we can play separately?

Discussion Roguelike Deckbuilder Survey Results

Hi again r/CoOpGaming !

We at Big Adventure recently conducted a survey to gather insights from Reddit roguelike deckbuilder communities (with the goal of improving our own cooperative roguelike deckbuilder), and we're excited to share our findings with you.

Thank you to everyone who participated. The sample was 116 people from the inscryption, slaythespire, CoOpGaming and deckbuildingroguelike and balatro subreddits.

SECTION 1: Who is playing Roguelike Deckbuilders?

Looking for Suggestions Looking for survivalcraft rec

I'm looking for a survivalcraft game to play with my gf. We're fairly different types of gamers, so we're looking for the right balance of mechanics:

She doesn't like automation, I enjoy it to a fair degree - things like auto farms in Minecraft were the best of both worlds, were I could engage with the mechanic and she's not forced to.

She enjoys decorating a base, which I care very little about. She'd appreciate it massively.

We both don't care much for combat, small amounts are definitely enjoyable, but it shouldn't be the main focus. We both like resource gathering and base building, climbing a tech tree, basically the core of the genre.

We liked: Minecraft, Astroneer, Raft (although it got a bit too tedious), Space Engineers (although a bit too complex), Subnautica (even if it didn't have coop we each played through it)

Looking for Suggestions Co-op games that can be played with just 2 people and with controllers. [PC/PS5]

Recently played Broforce on our PlayStation and we both enjoyed that so we're looking for something new. We both have PCs so online co-op is not an issue but they're more used to using a controller (xbox or ps) so preferably those with support. We're currently looking at Magicka, Rotwood, Blackout Protocol, Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, Gauntlet Slayer Edition, Nine Parchments, and For The King. Eon Altar looked cool but saw the mobile app is gone unfortunately.

We'd prefer not to play survival craft, platformers or puzzle heavy games. I'm iffy about roguelikes but I'm open to suggestions there as well.

Looking for Suggestions Suggestions For SplitScreen Games On PC?

I’m visiting my friend soon and we plan to play some co-op games on their PC. I wanted to buy them some games on Steam that we could play together while I’m there. I won’t be there long, so longer games like It Takes Two and A Way Out wouldn’t be a good fit. I’m looking for some short-term options.

So far, I’ve bought them:

  • Lovers In A Dangerous Spacetime

  • Chained Together

  • BattleBlock Theater

If anyone has any suggestions, I’d be so happy to hear them!

News 8 player online coop stealth runner Pandarunium out now!

On Thursday, June 20 I released my first solo dev game called Pandarunium. It's an 8 player online coop game where you and your friends must navigate to the finish line of a spiral map filled with enemies. If you touch an enemy, you drop dead on the spot. No worries though, if another panda runs over a dead panda, they will be revived to continue onward! Level up, gain and upgrade abilities, and play through all 10 levels. Each level adds a difficulty onto all the existing challenges.

Warning, this may look cute, but it is difficult. On level 10 there are about 2,000 enemies

Go pick up a copy on Steam for $2.69 (for the next few days) then it'll be back to $2.99.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/2852260/Pandarunium/

Thanks for reading,

Tenax Studios :)

Discussion unravel 2 pull mechanic

so my friend and i have a disagreement on the pulling mechanic in unravel 2.She thinks the fact that you pressing a button affects the movement of the other player that automatically makes it a risky mechanic to implement. She bases that on the premise that players are "unpredictable" and that creates a lot of potential for either mistakes in the movement or forced communication(meaning you constantly have to talk about when you re gonna press L2).In my opinion that doesnt necessarily make it a bad mechanic it just means there is a learning curve that throughout the game gets better and better through experience and chemistry with the other player.Whats your thoughts?
